Printed Matter

8/15/2007

After working on a variety of web projects over the past months and then switching to print design I've noticed something. It goes without saying, but the biggest difference between print and web is time. I'm writing this blog post, and seconds after I'm done it'll be visible to the world in its final form. The web is immediate like that. With print there's a time gap where the file is in production at the printers. I drew the illustration for the Portland Funbook months ago, but the book just released to the public last week. The PNCA Global Studios: Tokyo book project is just now going to press. The Newspapers' Lakeview EP release show is on saturday. The web definitely caters to my desire for instant gratification, but print projects reward patience. Now that this site is online my next order of business is to print up a 'zine. Keep an eye out for it.
